March 19th, 2026, when our first batch of south pole steers arrived at Cooper Family Farms.
Cooper Family Farms exists to offer its’ friends nutrient-dense, delicious beef, while revitalizing the soil and habitats on which its herd roams.
We process and sell our beef within the Great State of South Carolina, are proud to serve our local community, and be a friend to all who encounter the farm and its mission.

Hase Cooper
Hase Cooper spent the lion’s share of his youth exploring the fields, woods, swamps, and marshes of South Carolina. After graduating high school from Christ School in Arden, NC, in 2019, Hase moved to Bozeman, Montana, to continue his education and explore an entirely new landscape.
It was there in the Mountain West that his love of the outdoors meshed with a love of livestock, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
In the summers, Hase was a hand for a large cow-calf operation and worked in a cobbler and custom leather shop in the winters. After obtaining a Business Management degree and an Agricultural Business Minor from Montana State, Hase moved back to South Carolina to work under his grandfather in the commercial real estate industry.
After confirming his place is not in an office, he headed back out into the fields, accepting an internship at White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, GA, where he was given access to one of the nation’s largest fully integrated regenerative farms.
Carrying this knowledge back to his home in Carolina, Hase set up shop beside his old stomping ground in Clarendon County, where he now lives, works, and recreates.
Ava Glass
Ava Glass is the rock that keeps this whole place together. Hailing from the Northern Cape of Massachusetts, Ava was also called to Montana to explore its natural beauty and slide down its steep slopes with a board strapped to her feet.
She filmed most of it, putting her film degree to work before picking up her diploma. Ava currently is the Digital Media Coordinator for Yellowstone Forever, Yellowstone National Park’s non-profit, using her creative skills to help protect a national treasure for generations to come.
Beyond her day job, Ava freelances behind a camera and at the edit desk, creating videos focusing on the outdoors and folks who make their living and/or fill their free time in its bounds.
She is also the Marketing and Social Media Manager here at CFF.
Somehow, she finds a few moments here and there to get out in the wild herself, hunting, snowboarding, fishing, boating, and catching rays.
Our herd
You may hear us call our cattle “Our Boys,” and that’s because we are currently running only South Poll Steers. Steers, being castrated bulls, allow us to focus on better developing our land and grazing, as well as growing out the best beef possible without worrying about also developing our breeding program (yet).
The South Poll Breed was developed by a gentleman in Alabama to be the ultimate breed for the southeastern United States. Combining the Red Angus, Senepol, Barzona, and Hereford breeds, you end up with a slick-haired, short-statured, docile, red bovine that is a grass-to-beef converting superstar.
Their slick, oily red coat helps them stay cool and lowers their fly pressure during our hot SC summers. Their small frame ensures they put all their energy into growing tender meat for our customers, not long, bony legs for the feedlots. Known for their docility, these guys are easy to work and move across our pastures.
We rotate our cattle daily, ensuring that they always have access to fresh ground, minerals, and clean water. This rotation allows the forage to rest and recover before we come back to the same spot, cycling nutrients, and regenerating the soil You will never see us injecting our animals or soils with any synthetic chemicals.
